Single Implant
Replacing a single missing tooth with a titanium implant and a custom-matched restoration.
What is it?
A dental implant is a titanium post placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root. Once it has fused with the bone, it supports a custom-matched crown that replaces a single missing tooth.
What causes it?
Decay, trauma, a failed root canal treatment or advanced gum disease are the most common reasons a single tooth is lost and needs replacing.
Types of treatment
- Implant placement
- Guided placement of a titanium implant in the healed site.
- Restoration
- A screw-retained or cemented crown matched to the surrounding teeth, once osseointegration is complete.
